This Privacy Policy explains how WebDevPlayground (“the site,” “I,” or “me”)
collects, uses, and shares information when you visit
webdevplayground.com.
Information you provide
When you submit a comment, the site collects:
- Your name;
- Your email address; and
- The content of your comment.
Your name and comment may be displayed publicly. Your email address is not
published. I may use it to contact you privately about your comment, such as
to request clarification, answer a question, or discuss moderation.
Comment email addresses are not used for marketing or newsletters. The site
does not currently operate an email newsletter. If this changes, marketing
emails will not be sent without any consent required by applicable law.

Comment and avatar information
WordPress may record your IP address and browser user-agent information when
you submit a comment. This information is used for security, moderation, and

The site uses Gravatar to display profile images beside comments. A
cryptographic hash derived from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to
check whether your email is associated with an avatar. If an avatar is

Spam protection with Akismet
The site uses Akismet, an automated spam-detection service operated by
Automattic, to protect the comment system from spam and malicious content.
When you submit a comment, information including your name, email address,
comment content, IP address, browser user-agent information, referring page,
and the site URL may be sent to Automattic for analysis. Akismet uses this
information to determine whether the comment is likely to be spam. A comment
may be held for moderation or filtered based on that automated analysis.

Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, the web server and service providers may

I do not sell or rent the names or email addresses submitted through the

Comments and their associated metadata may be retained indefinitely so the
